How to Fix Chipped Paint on Walls

Steps for Fixing Chipped Paint

We recommend that you use plastic sheets or drop cloths to cover your floors and furniture for an easy clean-up and to protect the surfaces from paint chips and dust.

Once you’ve prepared the space, you can start scraping off any loose paint on the wall. You will then need to sand any raised or rough edges flat and then dust. Be sure that you’ve cleared away all loose paint and any dust left from sanding before moving on to the

Apply a lightweight spackle to the spots with a drywall taping knife. Allow the spackle to dry, and then sand it flat and dust. For deep repairs, you may need to use two coats. Allow the first coat to dry, then assess and see if you need another coat. You can then apply one coat of primer and then a coat of paint.
